Sample Traces

These sets of stumbling traces have been released for public use by the Place Lab research project. Hardware configurations vary by trace set, but all traces will be in the Place Lab log format.

So there is no confusion, these traces are not the beacon placement databases that give Place Lab its coverage. If you simply want to use Place Lab to compute the locations of your devices you probably do not need these. These traces are sample input logs for development and testing. Refer to the Quickstart Guide to learn how to load the beacon databases onto your device.

  • Pervasive and MobiSys 2005 Traces

These traces were collected for submissions to Pervasive 2005 and MobiSys 2005, and contain 802,11, GSM and GPS trace data for 3 different neighborhoods in the Seattle metro area. Total trace duration is approximately 2 hours, with around 55,000 total readings.
